As part of its resolution to thoroughly harness the inherent potentials of Esan Youths for progress and development, The Esan Youths Movement (EYM) is set to host the first ever Edo Central Sports Festival for all secondary schools in Esanland.

The inter-school sport contest will feature diverse games like Football, Volleyball, Handball, table tennis, road race, relay race, basketball, high jump, long jump, student egbabonelimi contest, etc.

According to Comrade Kingsley Ohens, “EYM decided to go into promotion of sporting activities among our youths because of the unifying role of sports in our community.”

Ohens stated further “under my leadership EYM will continuously pursue the dreams of the founders in areas of promoting unity among the Esan people all over the world. This is why we are tagging the programme: “Refocussing the youths attention to meaningful endeavours”.

“As we speak, modalities are being finalized by EYM to reach out to the appropriate government agency including the Edo State Sport Council for approval and support” he disclosed.

Comrade Ohens used the medium to reach out to all EYM members and stakeholders home and abroad to continually show solidarity to all EYM projects. Together we will build the Esan Nation of our dream” he said.

“The Sports Festival is scheduled to hold towards the ending of first term of 2019/2020 academic session about four months from now”, he added.
