NEXT CROP OF CORP MEMBERS IN EDO STATE TO ENJOY FACILITIES AT PERMANENT ORIENTATION CAMP. HON DAMIAN LAWANI.
BATCH B STEAM ll ORIENTATION COURSE BEGINS
The next sect of corp members that will be posted to Edo state for their Orientation Course will enjoy the new facilities at the Permanent Orientation Camp at Okada Commissioner for Youth and Special Duties, Hon. Damian Lawani revealed this at the induction Course for the 1250 Batch B, stream ll, Corp members posted to Edo State.
With the sole aim of mobilizing and grooming Nigerian youths for the promotion of national unity, sustainable development, self-reliance and prepare them for the challenges of leadership, a total of 1250 Corp members comprising 703 males and 547 females from different geopolitical zones of the country are in the state to integrate with the rich cultural heritage of the Esan, Afemai and the Revered Bini culture.
Taking oath of allegiance to serve their father land under the watchful eyes of the Commissioner for Youth and Special Duties, Hon Lawani Damian, who doubles as the Chairman of the State NYSC Governing Board urge the Corp members to have confidence in the Nigeria project stating that, in the past they may have failed to prepare the future for us but we will prepare ourselves for the future, “i want you to respect the traditions of the people”. He charged them to take the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship training seriously to aid them in becoming employers of labour and join Edo state government to eradicate child trafficking, illegal migration and other social vices.
Away from the Orientation course, the Commissioner led other government functionaries to inspect the NYSC permanent orientation site where work is 75% completed. He compared the structure at the site with that of the temporary site and directed that activities at the temporary site be relocated to the permanent site.
NYSC State Cordinator Commander Adebayo Ojo commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for his determination to complete the NYSC Permanent Orientation camp before the 2019 batch C Orientation exercise.
