THE JUDGEMENT DAY

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal have set today aside as a day of reckoning for one of the most celebrated PEPT in the history of Nigeria.

Pounders are varies in their shed of expectations from the tribunal outcome. While some believed that the use of electronics server as a means of collation and announcement of election result is lawful others believed it an alien to our law and arguments and facts tried to adduced through it cannot stand the test of time in any law court in Nigeria.

However, the Buhari and APC camp believed that elections are conducted and won at the pooling units and not at the tribunal, the validity of the winning is only put to test at the tribunal level.

Be that as it may, the Atiku/ PDP camp hold a contrary view, that no one is actually a winner in any election until the tribunal pronounced him or her so.

Which ever school of thought you may belong, what ever opinion you may hold, what ever political affiliation you may have, a decision will be reached today that will mark the beginning of the end of the INEC Electronics server brouhaha.

It is obvious that the wailers and “Atikulated” have changed their language and semantics political war fare, which is an indication that they have accepted defeat even before verdict is pronounced.

Expected languages from commentators at the end of the verdicts will range from: “It is a victory for democracy” ” the exercise has further deepen our democracy”
” it is a miscarriage of justice” ” the judiciary has once again proved to be the last hope of the common man” “Judiciary under PMB is not independent” ” well the PEPT has given their judgement we will meet in the Supreme Court and I believe the Supreme Court will definitely unturned this Judgement ”

The watershed verdict that will be given today will mark the beginning of the end of “Atikulated” as a political slogan in Nigeria political hemisphere

Love him or hate him, PMB mandate has been subjected to series of test of validity and he has always come out victorious in all. The PEPT case from all indication will not be exceptional as arguments, claims and counter claims by both the petitioner and respondent, PMB mandate will be validly up held today.

It is only expedient for those who are expecting the contrary to be prepared to control their Blood pressure that may arise from their expectations.
