Igueben LGA Set To Be A Honey Producing Area

Igueben Local Government Secretariat was yesterday in pleasant atmosphere as the 4 days training on Beekeeping and Honey Production came to an end in jubilation as successful participants shared their experiences. The closing ceremony took place on Saturday 24th August 2019 at the Chief Tom Ikimi Conference Hall in the LG secretariat.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr. Monday Ojieho said it was a beautiful moment though the beginning was a bit scary but thanked God for the success recorded. While appreciating the LG Chairman for what he described as a “wonderful opportunity”, he said words are not enough to express the gladness in their hearts for it was a dream come true and assured that they will never let LG down because to whom much is given, much is expected.

Also, a Higher National Diploma student of Auchi Polytechnic, Miss Courage Akharo said that the 4 days training was nice and warming and pointed out that the best way to appreciate the Executive Chairman, Hon Josie Ogedegbe is to go back home to put what they have learnt into practice by making sure they produce honey for the society.

The Chief Executive Officer, Dinotrust Global Company, Mr Innocent Ikponmwosa Odigie thanked them for their attention and cooperation during the 4 days comprehensive training which involved both lectures and field experiences. He admonished and urged them to promote what they have learnt by training others and opined that the aim is to make Igueben Local Government Area honey producing area not only in Edo state but Nigeria at large. He then adviced them to form a Cooperative so as to enable them access to loans and grants for the task ahead.

High point of the occasion was the presentation of the Starter Packs and Certificates of Participantion to the Participants by the LG Supervisor For Agriculture, Hon. Christopher Aluya
and the inauguration of Bee keeping Cooperative Executive members with the emergence of Mr Monday Ojieho as President, Leonard Ojekhile as Secretary and Miss Courage Akharo as Treasurer.

Present at the occasion were; the LG Supervisor For Agriculture, Hon Christopher Aluya, LG Head Of Agriculture Department Mr Anthony and The Chief Press Secretary To The Executive Chairman, Comrade Enemiye Patrick. Amongst others.
