A Japanese woman whose lungs were severely damaged by Covid-19 has received what doctors say is the first lung transplant from living donors to a coronavirus patient. Kyoto University Hospital said it was an 11-hour operation conducted by a 30-person medical team. The doctors used tissue from her husband and son; they are now in a stable condition. The female recipient, who wasn’t identified, remains in intensive care.
