Amy Cooper, who was fired last May after she was videotaped calling the police on a Black birdwatcher in New York City’s Central Park, is suing her former employer, claiming it did not adequately investigate the incident and she was terminated improperly. Cooper filed suit in US District Court on Tuesday. A spokesperson for Cooperโ€™s former employer, the financial services firm Franklin Templeton, told CNN on Wednesday that the company stands by its decision.โ
