Colorado’s cannabis industry is surging. Cannabis shops in the state notched sales of nearly $1.75 billion in 2019, setting a new annual record for the state, according to Colorado Department of Revenue data. Colorado’s cannabis sales increased 13% from 2018, and netted more than $302.4 million in tax revenue, which is divvied up to fund programs like school construction, law enforcement, public health and drug education.
