EDOROR Joins OBASEKI To Thank God For Victor
Today, Friday 22nd March, Rt. Hon Victor Edoror, joined Edo state Governor, Mr. Obaseki to thank God in an interdenominational service organised by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that took place at New Era College, Benin city to thank God for the victory of all the APC candidates in the recently held national and House of Assembly elections in Edo state.
Delivering his sermon on the theme: ‘The Sovereign God’ Ven. Joseph Usuemi, who was represented by Most Rev. Dr. Friday Imaekhare, said, when God is lifted up, he will draw men to himself, saying Obaseki need men to work with him, and the unprecedented winning of all the 24 seats in Edo state House of Assembly, by the ruling party, which is unprecedented in Edo state, is a pointer to the fact that Obaseki is God’s Servant Governor,(GSG) saying the governor’s ability to add to the good works left behind by his predecessor, is a milestone and testifies that the grace of God fished Obaseki out of the crowd to become the governor and that grace has been sustaining him.
In his address, Mr. Obaseki who expressed the gratitude from President Buhari to the people of Edo state, on the way Edo people voted enmasse for APC in the elections, said he is grateful to God that, contrary to what obtains elsewhere, no life was lost in the election that brought him to power, and in all the other elections that have so far been conducted in the state. Mr Obaseki said; ‘this recent election victory confers on us more responsibilities, and we have no excuse not to deliver to Edo people.’ Continuing, Mr Obaseki said security is now his topmost priority as potential investors must be convinced of a safe environment to invest; saying as long as he is the governor, there will be zero tolerance for Agberos and thuggery.
Rt. Hon. Edoror, who was elected for a third term running, to represent Esan central constituency in Edo state House of Assembly, speaking with a team of journalists after the service, said; ‘my victory at the polls for a third term consecutively is unprecedented in Esan central constituency and Esanland in general. I am highly humbled. I thank God the giver of all good things and I thank the people of my constituency for their unflinching and unreserved confidence in me to represent them.’ With this recent election victory, Rt. Hon. Edoror said, the wheels of development in Esan land, with God on our side, are irreversible.
