As Edo indigene or resident, if you have not visited this Production Centre inside the magistrate courts premises on Sapele Road, please do.

If you see what is going on there, you will appreciate one of the reasons EDOCSO have been fighting for stable and reliable electricity supply.

A bigger version of this model in the state will reduce poverty by making a lot of people productive. BEDC and their co-travelers have increased poverty in our state in their deliberate acts of poor and/or unavailable supply.

We all may not agree with Governor Obaseki on a couple of things, however, on this initiative, he meant well for the people. Our visit to this site gave us assurance for a better future for our state if there is further consolidation. We saw young persons employed and working because there was regular electricity supply there. The public conveniences and environment were clean with welcoming ambience.

The China and Dubai we rush to for business didn’t do anything extra ordinary to attract the type of patronage they enjoy today. This production center houses polythene producers, glass and furniture makers, shoe makers, trainees and internship class et al.

I enjoin us to visit location irrespective of political leanings. The project is for Edo people and not for political parties. This is part of what is meant when you hear people talking about creating enabling environment.

Edo Civil Society Organisations will not relent in its push for stable electricity supply because of its importance towards attaining social-economic growth of any society. This is our home, it’s our sole responsibility and commitment to making it work.
