The Esan Youths Movement (EYM), the Apex youths body in Edo Central District of South South Geopolitical Zone has called on government at all level expecially the Federal Government to not only evacuate endengered Nigerians back home from South Africa but to also rehabilitate, resettle and empower the Returnees to find happiness in their own country after going through near death ordeal in South Africa.

This Clarion call was made by Comrade Kingsley Ohens, the National President on behalf of Esan Youths Movement in Ekpoma Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

According to the statement also made available to media, EYM appeal to Government to not only evacuate but to rehabilitate and ressettle the Returnees to prove to them that Nigeria is a great country in Africa that can take care of her own. The statement reads

“Don’t let regrets and frustration set in after bringing them home. Rehabilitate and resettle them with something tangible. This will go a long way to make them feel at home and live a fulfilling life.

The Churches, private individuals and NGOs can also key into this humanitarian gesture. The pursuit of good life drove them away from home into hostile territorories, now that they are back home safe after losing their money and properties, there is the need to make them happy to stay and thrive in Nigeria” The statement reads.

Furthermore in the Clarion call, EYM charged the Government and concerned Nigerians, “Make the returnees feel at home like citizens of a great country. Make Nigeria better and comfortable than where they are coming from. Don’t make them regret their home coming and thus increase the rates of suicide deaths and escalation of crime rates.”.
