EYM Commends Igueben Council Boss For Organizing Public Accountability Hearing, Tasks Other Council Boss to Emulate Same

The Esan Youths Movement (EYM) has commended the Executive Chairman of Igueben Local Government Area, Hon. Josie Ogedengbe for organising the first of its kind event tagged: Public Accountability and Stewardship Briefing which took place at Chief Tom Ikimi Hall in the Council Secretariat at Igueben.

This commendation was given on behalf of EYM by its National leader, Comrade Kingsley Ohens at Igueben following the successful public stewardship briefing by the Council boss.

Among dignitaries at the public event were traditional leaders, politicians, religious leaders, youth groups, market leaders and other stakeholders drawn from the entire local government area.

Highlights of the public accountability hearing include developmental milestones and strides recorded under the leadership of Hon Ogedengbe which include employment of 99 young men on his payroll for teaching positions in schools in the local government, employment of 35 health workers, engagement of 160 Vigilante officers for security duties.

Other recorded development strides includes construction of markets, provision of electricity and prompt payment of salaries to the local government workers.

In response to the accountability report by the Council boss, Igueben People from all walks of life poured accolades on the Council boss for his open door policies and people oriented projects.

Specifically, the Esan Youths Movement in an official statement released from its National Headquarters in Ekpoma commended the council boss for the milestones development recorded in Igueben local Government Area and in the entire Esan land.

Speaking through its National Leader, Comrade Kingsley Ohens, EYM charged other council boss in Esan land to emulate the leadership style of Hon Ogedengbe by putting the people first in all their policies stating that the primary role of government at all level is to embark on policies and programmes that will develop the people while maintaining constant accountability and keeping in touch with the governed.
