EYM congratulates Senator Ovie Omo Agege over election as Deputy Senate President.

Esan Youths Movement (EYM), an umbrella sociocultural development organization of Esan people of South South Nigeria has congratulated Senator Ovie Omo Agege, (APC), on his election as the Deputy Senate President of the 9th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria..

Senator Omo Agege is a Senator representing the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta State.

Comrade Kingsley Ohens, President of Esan Youths Movement gave the congratulatory message on Tuesday in Ekpoma on behalf of the Esan Youths Movement immediately after the election of the Senate officers when press granted him interview.

Omo Agege is the second person from the South South Region of Nigeria to occupy such an exalted position in the country after Dennis Chukwudi Osadebe under NCNC from 1960 to 1963″, Ohens revealed.

Ohens called on Nigerians, especially people of the South South region irrespective of their religious, political and tribal affiliations, to pray for President Mohammadu Buhari and other leaders so that they could bring the desired change to the country.

He said that Buhari’s led administration needed prayers to enable it win its war against insurgency and restore the lost glory of the country.

Ohens called on candidates who contested against Omo Agege during the election to shun sentiment and pray for the success of the leadership during their tenure.

He commended the legislators and Nigerians who stood firmly behind Omo Agege during the struggle and urged them to give the Deputy Senate President more support for him excel.

Ohens used the medium to congratulate the South South son for his new elevation and urge him to use the exalted office to better the lot of South South people through the enactment of people oriented laws that will attract development to the South South region including the Esan Land.” he said.
