EYM inspects ongoing road projects in Ekpoma, commends Obaseki

Ekpoma 9th July, 2019

In its effort to ensure Edo Central gets fare share of development from the local, state, federal government and other agencies of government, the leadership of Esan Youths Movement today carried out an inspection tour of ongoing road projects in the university town of Ekpoma in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo state.

The inspection tour led by EYM president Comrade Kingsley Ohens visited the Ihumudumu and Ujemen Axis of the road projects and confirmed the quality and pace of the construction work.

Speaking with newsmen during the tour, Comrade Kingsley Ohens said “the Edo State government under H.E Godwin Obaseki has done well in terms of road construction in Esanland and most especially Ekpoma compared to other administration since 1999. Its only the old roads constructed by the Famous Ambrose Alli that are still in Ekpoma. Roads constructed in the 1979 and early 1980s that are still being used in Ekpoma. Despite the rains of roads in Edo South and North during Oshiomole, none was constructed in Ekpoma. Thank God that Obaseki has again displayed his true love for the Esan Nation by carrying out quality road works in Ekpoma and other Esan Towns” he said.

Comrade Ohens on behalf of the over 50,000 members of EYM worldwide commended the governor for the good job. According to Ohens “Esan people are praying for the governor to succeed in all his endeavors and effort to move Edo forward in the right direction. He however implored the governor to do more for Esan towns and villages because according to him “Esan has been neglected for too long.”

An EYM stakeholder who was also with the President in course of the inspection exercise, Elder Pius Omofuma, CEO of GT Foods highly commended the developmental strides of H.E Obaseki in Ekpoma most especially in road construction. According to the Octogerian, “Obaseki have done so much for Ekpoma within a short period. If others had worked in Ekpoma like Obaseki, the town would have been very developed by now. He should continue with his good works for Esan people and Edo State in general” he said.
