Hayley Orlinsky is making and selling colorful rubber band bracelets to raise money for her hometown hospital. The more than $20,000 she has raised will be used to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) and support research efforts. The Chicago second-grader has already shown a knack for entrepreneurship — she sold the most cookies in her Girl Scout troop last year — and a desire to spread kindness in response to bullies who made fun of her height. Hayley says she wants to keep making bracelets until the pandemic is over, and she is already planning special designs for the holidays.

  1. Damn, the fact that y’all need child labour to raise money for hospitals in the middle of a pandemic is… ugh

  2. 7 year olds raising thousands of dollars, 9 year olds organizing stuff to feed the homeless etc etc. Not believable news but really these websites playing into attention seeking parents’ hands is even more unbelievable.

  3. On the surface this is beautiful, but it’s actually really sad that a child or anyone other than the government is stepping up to contribute to this pandemic 😒😒😒😒 like let this child keep that money to fund her education bc the way these student loans are step up 🤯
