MacKenzie Scott’s announcement that she has donated $4.2 billion to 384 organizations comes just four months after she donated $1.7 billion to 116 organizations, including four historically Black colleges and universities, in July. “The pandemic has been a wrecking ball in the lives of Americans already struggling,” Scott wrote in a Medium post. “Economic losses and health outcomes alike have been worse for women, for people of color, and for people living in poverty. Meanwhile, it has substantially increased the wealth of billionaires.” Scott is the world’s 18th-richest person with a net worth of $60.7 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. 1. Ok so maybe it’s because I don’t stay in america or something but what i had read was that most billionaires don’t actually have their net worth available to them in cash i.e. it’s tied up in equity and what not. How then does someone donate so much? Is it like they donate stock instead of cash?

  2. Capitalism is the only way to fix problems. Basically if you want to get shit done, make a lot of money then pay someone to solve the problem. Counting on citizens to make an actual impact is delusional. Shout outs to great capitalists Bill, Jeff and Mackenzie!

  3. I love her! I thank her for doing exactly what I would do if I was her.😍My heart is joyful. #hopeinthisworld#Alightinmypath
