Maia Chaka will make history when the new National Football League season starts as the first Black woman official. “It is an accomplishment for all women, my community, and my culture,” Chaka said. She was previously a game official in the NCAA’s Pac-12 Conference and Conference USA. Off the football field, Chaka is a health and physical education teacher in the Virginia Beach public school system.

  1. As long as any human is up to the job and not chosen because of political correctness, it’s all good.

  2. People are gonna be bitching because she isn’t black “enough”, wait for it. But respect to her👍

  3. Watch someone out there find a way to hate on this or say something like “As LoNg As ShE wAs ThE mOsT qUaLiFiEd CaNdIdAtE fOr ThE jOb”

  4. Black!!! In that case, I am back too. Congratulations either way it’s well deserved. I am sure you were picked for your skill set than your gender or color.

  5. Congrats!! Awesome for Maia. It’s sad that you are being used by CNN for just another one of their Pathetic racial identity posts again.
