New Zealand will become one of the world’s only countries to offer paid bereavement leave for workers who suffer a miscarriage — India allows women six weeks of leave after a miscarriage. Employees in the country will be entitled to three days of leave after a miscarriage, according to the bill approved this week. “I can only hope that while we may be one of the first, we will not be one of the last, and that other countries will also begin to legislate for a compassionate and fair leave system that recognizes the pain and the grief that comes from miscarriage and stillbirth,” said Ginny Andersen, the Labour MP who introduced the bill.

  1. Thank you ❤️ I’ve personally never experienced a miscarriage but I’ve seen my mom go through the pain. Stay strong ladies ❤️

  2. Kinda hard to believe this isn’t the norm. A miscarriage seems like such a hard thing to go through physically and mentally too

  3. Of course!!! A smart woman in charge. More humanity will be practiced. Wonderful for all the women in that country.
