Okoduwa applauds Edo Chief Staff for lifting two victims of human trafficking

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Anti Human Trafficking Issues, Solomon Okoduwa has applauded the Chief of Staff to Edo state Governor, Taiwo Akerele for empowering two libya returnees.

Akerele empowered the two returnees with one hundred thousand naira each to enable them start up business of their choice.

According to Okoduwa, “He has once again demonstrated his unwavering passion and care for victims of human trafficking in Edo state.

The chief of staff who was touched by their sympathetic stories assured them of government’s continued supports.

He said Governor Obaseki is concerned by their sufferings and “he is putting up measures to support them to ameliorate their sufferings.

Akerele however admonished the returnees to be patient with the governor, saying he is reaching out to donors that will support them with more sustainable reintegration packages.

The beneficiaries, Russia returnees, Florence Abu and Theresa Uwadiae expressed their joy and gratitude to the chief of staff for lifting them.

By the gesture, Abu particularly said the Chief of Staff had wiped away all the sorrow, tears and bitterness she experienced in Russia after paying a whopping sum of 17.1M to my madam, thank God for the kindness of the chief of staff to come to our level, listen to us and blessed us with the sum of N100,000 each. I am very grateful, may God bless you Sir.”
