OVN Commends Shaibu, Ogie For Standing Tall with Governor Obaseki

By Noble Sunday

A socio-cultural group, Obaseki Volunteer Network (OVN) has hailed all political elites including the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon Philip Shaibu and the Secretary to the state government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie for standing by Governor Godwin Obaseki despite resistance from displeased political elements.

A statement signed by the leader of the group, Solomon Okoduwa on Monday in Benin City, said the political elites were in the right path and “their action is in tandem with the wishes of the people.”

We are indeed glad for their (Shaibu and Ogie) steadfastness, commitment and loyalty to the Governor. And we know definitely this will bring about the salvation and dividends of democracy Edo People are yearning for,” Okoduwa stated.

He said the state government led by Obaseki is doing well and should be allowed to continue the good work.

“Strategically winning more souls to himself by giving creative and remarkable good governance to the good people of Edo state. Obaseki, a man full of God’s wisdom. No wonder he’s a silent achiever. We appeal to him to avoid being distracted by the voices of detractors. With him, Edo will work again.”

The people have loved him across party lines because of his prudent way of managing resources. The vast majority of Edo people have vowed to stay with the Governor following his style of leadership. He might not have touched every sector completely but with the way he is going and measuring from what he has done, we are convinced that he will touch every area of Edo economy. He will improved the standard of living and create more robust opportunities for business to flourish in the state.

Okoduwa quoted the governor as saying “Politics should be about inclusiveness and every part of the whole must have a sense of belonging. Otherwise, you cannot carry everybody along.”
