Pray For Us – Emuakhagbon Urges Women Group
Executive Chairman, Esan South East local government area, Hon Victor Emuakhagbon, has called on members of the Catholic Women Organization, CWO, to pray for the success of his administration in its determination to deliver peace, security and sustainable development in the entire council area. He made the call when he received the group in his office at the council Secretariat, Ubiaja, on Monday.
Hon Emuakhagbon, who noted that prayers are important ingredients for the successful realization of any human dream, urged members of the women group to always put the council in their mind whenever they are offering supplications to God for a better society. According to him,
“We put God first in all that we do in this council area. We do so because there is nothing anybody can do without God. That is why, apart from the regular prayer sessions we have, we always call on individuals and groups to equally put us in prayers. In addition to its ability to direct our search for peace and security, your prayers will also go a long way in fueling our determination to provide sustainable development for the people of the council area. So, we urge you to pray for us each time you put your supplications for a better society before God,” he said.
Denary President, Uromi Diocese, Mrs Ehima Agatha, who praised the council boss for his unique development strides, insisted that until his coming, the people of the council area have not seen some of the administration’s development flagships, which include the newly established Mass Transit and immediate and regular payment of pensions and gratuities. According to her, all well meaning people of the council are already on their kneels, praying for the administration even before the chairman’s request. She therefore, urged him not to rest on his oars just so that his administration will become the nation’s yardstick for measuring development performance.
Hon Emuakhagbon also used the opportunity provided by the courtesy visit to inform the people that the important task before his administration is to ensure that the greatest number of people in the council area benefit from his administration’s development agenda. That, he said, is very important given the fact that no one can satisfactorily meet the yearnings of all.
“My administration’s task is to meet the development needs of the greatest number of people in the council area. That is very much important to us here as we cannot satisfy all. We need your support to be able to achieve the aim,” he noted.
