Simone Biles’ sponsors offered statements of support Wednesday following her decision to pull out of Thursday’s individual, all-around gymnastics competition at the Tokyo Olympics, citing mental health concerns. “Being the best also means knowing how to take care of yourself,” said Athleta chief brand officer Kyle Andrew. Visa, another athlete sponsor, recognized Biles’ “incredibly brave decision,” senior vice president of global sponsorship strategy Andrea Fairchild said.

  1. This headline is unnecessary , why you keep talking about her? Her story is over yesterday and she had a press conference explaining what happened smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

  2. The name on the front is a hell lot more important than the one on the back- Herb Brooks

  3. They should! She went out there performed made sure her team had a chance of winning and then stepped down. If anyone has anything negative to say about black women taking care of their mental health they can go face the wall…

  4. As they should!! She did absolutely nothing wrong, and everything right! 🙏🏻❤️💪🏻

  5. She’s pushed through with a kidney stone once and won. She’s pushed through with a broken toe once and won. She deserves to be respected and believed when she says this is to much for her she is a strong person and she knows her limits I would hate to see her get lost on her rotation count and fall and get seriously injured. I really hope to see her participate at least one last time in one of the individual events she deserves to get gold again she has endured so much as a gymnast including being sexuality assaulted by that team doctor. She’s the #Goat no matter what.

  6. An incredibly brave decision. Why risk serious injury if your head’s not in the game? Simone is a true champion and role model.

  7. Why can’t the woman just be allowed some space? We know the story now. Back up and give the woman some room. She hasn’t done anything wrong. She’s put her health and wellbeing first. Everyone should do that. The Olympics goes on. She doesn’t need all this, and some of these stories are just coverups for what people really wanna say i e. She cracked under pressure. Naw, she wasn’t feet right and she pulled out, it’s that simple. Back off and give her some damn space.

  8. What she’s doing is actually more important than winning another gold medal: Setting an example that people ought to put their personal well-being above living up to — or keeping up with — society’s expectations. I applaud her for having the courage to do the right thing, despite immense pressure she faced to do otherwise, and I wish her the very best going forward 👏❤️🙏
