Six-year-old Bethany Moultry and her mother partnered with homeless shelters in her Georgia community to distribute “Bethany’s Happy Bags for the Homeless,” zip-lock bags with essential items homeless people need such as beef sticks, first aid, toiletries, masks, Gatorade and more. Bethany has relied on donations from strangers on the internet as well as students from her brother’s school to pack and distribute over 750 happy bags throughout the Savannah area. “It is about seeing the amount of people she (Bethany) has touched whether she realizes it or not,” Bethany’s mother said. “Bethany is the little happy bag spark that has created little sparks and fires other places, inspiring people all over the country to help people in their communities as well.” (📸: Colleen Moultry)
