Swimmer Tom Dean was infected with Covid-19 twice before winning double gold in Tokyo Olympics.

CNN’s @willripleycnn asked him what it was like getting ill before the Games. “It’s an athlete’s worst nightmare, especially during an Olympic year, so I’m glad I was able to come back from it,” said Dean. “It was kind of a perfect storm of awful things because I couldn’t train, I couldn’t leave my flat and I was really ill.”

  1. Oh wow an Olympic athlete who is in phenomenal shape infected with a virus that has a 98% survival rate 🖕🏻😂

  2. Or maybe the virus isn’t really that much to worry about. You can still win gold medals.

  3. He got Covid and he survived? Wow. I thought everyone died from it or is that just the delta variant?
