The Biden administration is undoing a controversial Trump-era decision to nix federal protections against discrimination in health care for transgender Americans, the Department of Health and Human Services announced Monday. “The mission of our Department is to enhance the health and well-being of all Americans, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation,” said Dr. Rachel Levine, the assistant secretary for health and the first out transgender federal official to be confirmed by the Senate.
