The House has passed a pair of gun control bills that would expand background checks and close a loophole tied to the 2015 Charleston church shooting. Currently, background checks are not required for gun sales and transfers by unlicensed and private sellers. The bills are expected to pass the House but will face a steep uphill climb in the Senate as Democrats hold a slim 50-50 majority and would need significant Republican support to overcome a legislative filibuster.

  1. Wow… this almost seems like something that would have been really easy to do a long time ago..

  2. why do republicans think that sensible and responsible changes to gun laws means all guns will be taken away? its ok to support gun ownership AND improving existing laws

  3. Good luck trying to get the 100,000,000 guns out there registered. It will never happen. And this will go to court and it will be found unconstitutional
