The University of Southern California announced Thursday that students whose families have an annual income of $80,000 or less can attend the private university tuition-free, starting with students entering their first year this fall. “We’re opening the door wider to make a USC education possible for talented students from all walks of life,” said President Carol Folt. One year of tuition at USC is $57,256 — and that’s before additional costs such as dining, books and transportation, which can bring the total per year to upwards of $77,000, according to the school.
