The US Fish and Wildlife Services for the Midwest has renamed “Asian” carp follo…

The US Fish and Wildlife Services for the Midwest has renamed “Asian” carp following a wave of anti-Asian hate crimes in 2020 and 2021. Grass, bighead, silver and black carp, which originally were brought to the United States in the 1970s as a way to control plant, algae and snail populations, are considered invasive. “This could be referring to Asian people as being an invasive species, which is just a horrible connotation,” said Charlie Wooley, the regional director for the US Fish and Wildlife Service in the Midwest, which now simply refers to the fish as “invasive” carp.

  1. How well do you know your man? Search his number on my bio and prepare yourself for the results 🤫

  2. This is more white liberal woke-ism that needs to stop. Nobody gives two shits or makes that connotation.

  3. I’m Korean and I think this is one the silliest things I’ve heard since Biden said the shot will keep you safe from Covid, no hospital, no death!

  4. Absolutely ridiculous take, if you think calling a fish Asian is offensive, you’re mindset is the problem not the name of the fish.

  5. Really, I’m sorry but if this offends you, grow a pair!! So if an animal originates from a certain region and you put their origin in their name, that’s offensive?? I swear you probably believe all kids who compete should get a trophy even if they lost 🤨

  6. Yeah that will solve everything! When will anyone learn that it’s not names and words that actually matter – but mentalities and the way we treat each other that does?!

  7. This is ridiculous… some things are offensive… this isn’t even close. Stuff like this takes away from things that ACTUALLY matter 🤦🏽‍♀️
