Tishaura Jones was elected mayor of St. Louis on Tuesday — becoming the city’s first Black woman to hold the office. “This campaign can unequivocally say that we’ve begun breaking down the historic racial barriers and the racial divides that exist, and have existed for generations in our city,” said Jones, who ran on a progressive platform and a promise to reform and revitalize the city.

  1. In a little while they’ll tell you her dad Spanish and she’s now the first Spanish woman mayor 😂😂😂😂

  2. I’m proud of the growth of the city to allow an equal opportunity for leadership. I wish her much support and success in producing amazing new chances for the citizens of the city.

  3. Another racist comment from cnn. It doesn’t matter what colour or we’d she is and the sooner people realise that the better ur country will be

  4. I suppose if this country hadn’t suppressed POC and woman for generations, and we are just now including POC and woman as they should have been included for those generations, race or gender wouldn’t be a factor in description. But, it didn’t and now we are…..rock on sister!
