United Airlines is rewriting some of its rules surrounding flight attendants’ appearance, loosening regulations on hair, makeup and tattoos to be more inclusive. Most airlines have specific uniform requirements for men and women, and many carriers police staff’s hair and makeup. Starting September 15, United customer-facing employees will be permitted to have visible tattoos, while customer-facing workers of all genders will be able to wear makeup and nail polish should they wish. Employees of all genders will also be allowed to wear their hair down. Tap the link in our bio to learn more about the new rules.

  1. That’s code for: you need loser clothes to fight these passengers off. And we need people who can fight in different martial arts.

  2. Let’s try and keep standards high. When i’m at the airport i often admire how smart they all look when passing for their flight. I hope this doesn’t change.

  3. They are allowed to wear their hair down, OMG, awesome, now let’s talk about 13 year olds being kidnapped and raped in Afghanistan in this very moment 😒

  4. Finally…Ive wanted to apply to be a flight attendant for the longest, but my tattoos always hindered me. It’s about time 🙌
