Uromi: OSM Drum Support for Gov.Obaseki, say continuity Is The Way Forward..

Members of a group known as Obaseki/Shaibu Movement (OSM) in Edo State on Saturday in Uromi during a stakeholders meeting drum support for Gov. Obaseki and Rt. Hon. Phillip Shaibu re-election, citing the administration sterling performances.

In a statement which was made known to the public through its state coordinator Hon. Miracle Ogbebor, said that Governor Obaseki is a Silent Achiever and yet, to some others, as the “Caterpillar Revolutionist” for his many sides rolled into the
singular vision of making Edo State a great and prosperous State.

Following his sterling performance which has elicited joy and restored the hope of Edolite in a bright future having left footprints of quality projects and strategic policies in the sand of time, it is only natural,
and fitting, for The Obaseki/Shaibu Movement (OSM) to send out a clarion
call to the governor, first in appreciation, and then to remind him that under no circumstance would they allow him to abandon them halfway
having brought them thus far in the journey towards growth and evidential
development, hence, the dominating calls for him to respect their wish of leading the State till 2024.

Hon. Miracle Ogbebor went further to say that right from the day he assumed office, Governor Obaseki, settled down to work immediately knowing full well that the expectations of the
people were high and nothing short of excellent performance would satisfy their sweet souls and fill their gaping hope.

Obaseki therefore established critical areas of life which needed urgent intervention in and set them as Development Pillars for his administration with the corresponding Enablers to achieve the set objectives.

Since no meaningful progress can be made in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity, the governor embarked on a head-on collision course with ticket collections reform and this gave the Edo people comfort. With Gov. Obaseki, this is now a thing of the past. With the peace and security enjoyed in Edo today, it is very easy for nay sayers to forget where we were before Obaseki came on board and where we are today .

The governor who also launched the Edo State Security Trust Fund, with the state government committing N2
billion as seed fund.

The components of the state security architecture include;  50 special security cars fitted with modern communication and security gadgets; 30 Toyota Hilux patrol vans; 30 patrol motor bikes and three Tropicalized Armoured Personnel Carriers; three Ambulances; Integrated Command and Control Centre; and Five special security check points to be manned at all the entry and exit points in the state.

Others are Special Patrol Units (land and waterways); Integrated Electronic City Surveillance Unit; Establishment of a Special Force unit/anti-kidnapping squad; Establishment of K-9 unit; Establishment of paramedics unit; Establishment of the Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) scheme with 3000 trained and kitted workforce and a community police radio network. The uncommon
adroitness with which he has been able to introduce and sustain synergy
among the several security agencies operating in the state is another loud testimony to his human management skills.

The state coordinator of the group stated that Governor Obaseki has done well in almost three years and deserves another term.

“Governor Godwin Obaseki no doubt has surpassed all our expectations. He has done well in terms of infrastructure, education, security, jobs and wealth creation.

In his words, “The people of Edo are happy with the recent awards for the construction of the various Roads. Some of these roads has been long overdue because these roads have their economic impact in the state. All we need in this state is to be united with the Governor in order to take this state to the next level

“His vision has allowed budgets to work in the state; salaries are being paid regularly despite all the challenges we face as a nation,” Hon. Miracle Ogbebor said.

The statement was jointly signed by;
The State Coordinator; Hon. Miracle Ogbebor, The Diaspora Coordinator; Prince Victor Oyakhilomen, and The Grand Patron of the Movement; Sen. Dr. Domingo Obende

OSM which was formed in 2018, was founded to promote and encourage good governance in the state.
