WE’LL CONTINUE TO DO OUR BEST HON JOSIE OGEDEGBE ASSURES IGUEBEN LG.

Ongoing Ebelle market phase 2 and other projects to be completed in 2019.

We will continue to do our best to ameliorate the suffering of our people while doing our best to make them happy. The Executive Chairman, Igueben Local Government, Hon (Bldr) Dr. Josie Ogedegbe (JP) MNIOB, told news men at Igueben the administrative headquarter of Igueben LG. He said, the best thing to do when you see the people happy with what you are doing, is to continue to do more rather than relenting. The Council boss also reeled out plans to commence the Council secretariat Block B which will provide more office accommodation and serene environment for staff to work.

Hon. Ogedegbe, also responded to the rumours making the round, that he removed the street light generators for personal use. He described the rumor as laughable. He pointed out, that it will be recalled that the one in Oyomon area was almost stolen at 2am. The Generator was about to be loaded into a waiting Van. “We have had vandalisation of transformers in Igueben a number of times which cost the LG money to restore. As we speak the Local Government is working on connecting the street lights to the National Grid. To achieve this, we have secured three 50KVA transformers to be hung on the poles off the ground as recommended by BEDC. Secondly, due to dwindling resources for too many competing needs, the LG cannot afford estimated cost of N900,000 per month to buy diesel to fuel the generators. When providing facilities, you must look at sustainability. Soon, the street lights will be powered.” So say Hon. Ogedegbe.

The Executive Chairman, reassured his commitment that he will continue to do his best to ameliorate the suffering of his people despite plans by some recalcitrant to cause distractions. He added, that all the ongoing projects in the local government area under the council will be completed this year 2019 and new ones including renovation of health centres, construction of Ekpon market, etc will commence..
