Xenophobia: Come Back Home or Leave South Africa Now- Udebhulu Advises Nigerians in S.A.

BENIN CITY-A Chieftain of the ruling party in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Kelly O. Udebhulu, has called on Nigerians living in South Africa to hurriedly come back home or travel out from South Africa before the unexpected happens to them and also urge the Federal Government of Nigeria to engage the government of South Africa to prevent subsequent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other Africans living in South Africa.

In a press statement issued in Benin City on Tuesday, Prince Udebhulu expressed concern about the recent attacks on Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa recently.

“It is regrettable that inspite of Nigeria’s shown of love and supports to South Africa during the apartheid era, the South Africans failed to show same gesture and love toward Nigerians living in South Africa no matter the reasons behind these attacks against Nigerians.

“A country we stood behind like Rock of Gibraltar and donated millions of Dollars to fight apartheid in their country could turn around and treat us with hatred, unwarranted attacks and killings like we are experiencing now. It is a shame and wickedness.

“It is pathetic and worrying that the pre-meditated attacks are often fuelled by inciting statements of some top South African politicians against Nigerians publicly and the killings had continued unabated.” Udebhulu lamented.

He called on federal government of Nigeria to stand behind every Nigerian living in South Africa and their business cum investments because they left Nigeria for a greener pasture just as we have South Africans and their investments in Nigeria too.
